The strange interweavings of this thing we call life

I met my online friend Martin (that's Martin, like martini, not Martin, like Short), a while back, and he introduced me to author Thomas De Quincey, the subject of his Master's thesis.

I saw the movie Suspiria probably 2ish years ago, and it's always stuck with me.

Thomas De Quincey (15 August 1785 – 8 December 1859) (a Leo), is best known for his Confessions of an English Opium Eater.

Suspiria, by Italian writer/director Dario Argento, is a cult classic largely touted as one of the scariest movies of all time.

I happened to be talking to Martin one night, and asked him if he had seen Suspiria. He said he had not, but the term Suspiria caught his attention because of Thomas De Quincey's Suspiria de Profundis. And upon further investigation, come to find out that Dario Argento actually based Suspiria, and the larger Three Mother's Trilogy, of which Suspiria is the first film, on the work of De Quincey.

Strange, no?

Well, so much for that

But hey, coffee's always an adventure, and an adventure should always involve coffee, so I'm keeping the name. :)

I haven't had a blog for quite some time, and who knows if this blog will keep up, but I do miss blogging sometimes.

So here I am, a new day, a new blog.

And I don't have much to say....
